DKM Blue recognises that our success as a company is dependent upon the quality of our relationships with our customers, employees, suppliers and communities. We strive to be socially responsible and know the trust our customers have in us is not to be taken lightly.

DKM Blue seeks partners who share our commitment to quality, safe products and ethical business principles. We strive to make certain the goods we procure are made in compliance with applicable law and encourage our suppliers to proactively initiate ways to continue being environmentally responsible.

Product

Each of the products presented to our clients endeavour to use minimal packaging while still maintaining presentation value and whenever possible, shipping cartons made of post-consumer recycled materials.

Community and Diversity

The DKM Blue culture emphasises providing support and adding value to our communities and those of our supply chain by proactively purchasing from socially diverse suppliers. We encourage diversity within our own organisation and celebrate the variety of cultures contributing to DKM Blue.

Commitment to our community is important to us and in our view an essential part of our growth as a socially responsible contributor to society. We value and support education and over the last year have devoted staff time and merchandise in support of a fund to rebuild a school in Sri Lanka, donated to the Make A Wish Foundation, Red Cross, David Peachy Foundation for Aboriginal Welfare and Education and the Australian Commonwealth & Olympic Weightlifting Teams.

Ethics

DKM Blue takes a multi-step approach with the goal of ensuring that the facilities operated by its vendors, subcontractors and buying agents adhere to a high degree of ethical labour standards. DKM Blue partners must follow our Manufacturers Code of Business Agreement stating that contractors must comply with all applicable wage, hour and overtime laws, follow fair employment practices, respect workers rights to freedom of association, comply with environmental standards, and provide a safe work environment. Local Australian suppliers are required to guarantee their adherence to our standards while overseas suppliers are audited in partnership with our third party auditing and testing agency, Intertek.

Our greatest responsibility as a global company is to play a role in bringing about systematic change for workers within our own supply chain, and in our industry overall. What we've learned from our years of experience is that monitoring alone cannot solve the problem. Many of the problems are recurring throughout our industry.

We encourage our suppliers to be honest regarding factory working conditions and educate them on the importance of transparency. A focus on transparency is the first step toward problem solving and establishing improvement goals. If we find a supplier is unwilling to comply with a schedule of improvement, we seek alternate suppliers.

DKM Blue has a zero tolerance policy regarding the use of child, prison or forced labour and any evidence of the above results in automatic termination of the supplier relationship. DKM Blue routinely reviews the Guidelines to determine whether modifications are appropriate in light of new developments.

Environment

DKM Blue is committed to a role of environmental leadership in our industry.8 We firmly embrace and believe it is our responsibility to design for a better world by minimizing our global, environmental footprint through sustainable product innovation. In addition to assessing our footprint, we also strive to identify and understand the broader environmental and social trends that have potential for long term impact on our business. By taking steps to reduce waste from our operations and recycle, we can preserve the earth's natural resources and enhance the quality of lives around the globe.
